What's new?
- 12/5/98:
- Looks like we have another conference coming up that we will be speaking at. This one is
The Complete DSL Summit. It is being
held in Miami on March 15-16.
- 12/3/98:
- Just got back from the Rolling Out ADSL
conference. It was a very interesting conference (They mostly focused on issues confronting
DSL rollouts in Europe. It would appear that Europe really has a much better infrastructure
for DSL (No bridge taps, very few load coils) but that they are having a problem getting
thier Telcos to move on it (Very few contrys in Europe seem to have any unbundling going on).
It was very intersting to hear DSL from different perspective.
- 11/10/98:
- We are starting to gather new firmware for the hardware we have have and trying to get
our hands on any of the other modems out there to run them through the next round of our
trial. We will try and keep the whats new page up to date as we get new stuff in! (If you
are a DSL vendor and you would like to get some of you gear in our trial, be sure to contact us. Now is the time to submit gear
if you want to get in on this round of testing.)
- 10/2/98:
- Looks like we are going to do a presentation at another conference. We have been invited
to present at Rolling Out ADSL on December 1st
in Paris France (Thankfully the conference is all in english).
- 8/12/98:
- Both Dave and I have had alot of conflicting things come up so we haven't had much time
to work on the trial lately. Our home is that we can get into get and have the new round
of tests set up be the end of the year.
- 6/24/98:
- We have just gotten in some new IDSL boxes from ADTRAN. We are very excited about them
because they may be a hardware that can finally deal reliably with our longest links. We will
have more info about them as soon as we have had a chance to run them though their paces.
- 6/20/98:
- We are in the process of getting the new version of the cisco/netspeed firmware loaded up
on our 202 and 203 and are expecting much better results from the units (It sounds like if
we would have waited just one month before starting our first round of tests we would have
gotten much better results, because they were in the process of completing a major upgrade
to the firmware)
- 5/20/98:
- We have pick our first round deployment gear!
